Our Story

The J-D (J bar D) ranch has been in the Dillard family since the late 1800’s. In 2003 my husband, Tom and I bought my sisters and mother out of the Claypool Ranch. The rolling hills are abundant in native grasses and some Bermuda. There are numerous ponds and several solar powered wells to serve the cattle year round. Trees along creek beds and around ponds serve as shade for the cattle during the hot Oklahoma summers. We are extremely proud of our long heritage of continuous family ranching. We strive to be exemplary stewards of the land and cattle. It is important to us that the cattle we raise are provided a stress free environment, are healthy and are genetically selected for superior fertility, efficiency and carcass merit traits

Our mission is to provide our cattle the best possible environment free of disease, stress and environmental hazards while creating a sustainable productive herd raised naturally on native Oklahoma grasses. We strive to be stewards of the land passing our ranch on to the next generation with the goal for each generation to do what is good for the land, environment, wildlife and cattle.
